NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 2/Sec 21) (First Revision) which is identical with IEC 60601-2-21 : 2020 ‘Medical electrical equipment - Part 2-21: Particular requirements for the basic safety and essential performance of infant radiant warmers’ issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Electromedical, Diagnostic Imaging and Radiotherapy Equipment Sectional Committee and approval of the Medical Equipment and Hospital Planning Division Council.

This standard was originally published in 2018 which was identical with IEC 60601-2-21 : 2009. The first revision has been undertaken to align it with the latest version of IEC 60601-2-21 : 2020.

Only the English language text in the IEC Standard has been retained while adopting it in this Indian Standard and as such the page numbers given here are not the same as in IEC Standard.
