This Indian Standard (Part 2/Section 84) which is a modified adoption of ISO 80601-2-84 : 2020 ‘Medical electrical equipment - Part 2: Particular requirements for basic safety and essential performance, Section 84 Ventilators for emergency medical services environment’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Anaesthetic, Resuscitation and Allied equipment Sectional Committee and approval of the Medical Equipment and Hospital Planning Division Council.
On publication of this standard, IS/ISO 10651-3 : 1997 ‘Lung ventilators for medical use - Part 3 Particular requirements for emergency and transport ventilators’ shall stand withdrawn.
