IS 13509 : 1992 Automotive vehicles - Towing vehicles - Mounting of electrical connections on rear cross members

1 Scope

1.1. This standard specifies the location on towing vehicle rearcross members for the coupling devices that ensures electricalconnections with the towed vehicles.

1.2 It applies to This electrical coupling devices:

- plug type "normal" (12 and 14 V);

- plug type "supplementary" (12 and 14 V);

- plug for vehicles on which the braking system incorporates andanti-locking device.

1.3 This standard applies to those towing vehicles normally usedfor commercial transport coupled to towed vehicles themanufacturers towed weight of which is greater than 3.5 t.
