NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 5) which is identical to ISO 9374-5 : 2021 ‘Cranes - Information to be provided - Part 5: Overhead travelling cranes and portal bridge cranes’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Cranes, Lifting Chains and Related Equipment Sectional Committee and approval of the Mechanical Engineering Division Council.

This standard was first published in 1997. The first revision of this standard has been undertaken to align it with the latest version of ISO 9374-5 : 2021 ‘Cranes - Information to be provided - Part 5: Overhead travelling cranes and portal bridge cranes’.

The major changes in this revision are as follows:

a) New clause 3 terms and definition has been added;

b) Figures 1 to 6 have been redrawn; and

c) Annex A has been rearranged.
