NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 2) (First Revision) which is identical to ISO 18869 : 2017 'Hydraulic fluid power - Test methods for couplings actuated with or without tools' issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Fluid Power Systems Sectional Committee and approval of the Production and General Engineering Division Council.

This standard was first published in 1993 by adoption of ISO 7241-2 : 1986. ISO 7241-2 was superseded by ISO 18869 : 2017. This revision has been brought out to align it with ISO 18869 : 2017. In this revision, following major changes have been incorporated:

a) The scope of the standard has been expanded;

b) Fluid loss, specific temperature test and over tightening test for screw have been added; and

c) Pressure impulse test has been revised.

This standard is published in 2 parts. Other part in this series is:

Part 1 Dimensions and requirements

The text of ISO standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain terminologies and conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:
