NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 14/Sec 1) (Fifth Revision) which is identical with ISO 3506-1 : 2020 ‘Fasteners - Mechanical properties of corrosion-resistant stainless steel fasteners - Part 1: Bolts, screws and studs with specified grades and property classes’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the General Engineering and Fasteners Standards Sectional Committee and approval of Production and General Engineering Division Council.

This standard was originally published in 1961 and subsequently revised in 1967, 1984, 2002 and in 2018. The fifth revision of this standard has been undertaken to align it with the latest version of ISO 3506-1.
