NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 14/Sec 3) (Fourth Revision) which is identical with ISO 3506-3 : 2009 ‘Mechanical properties of corrosion-resistant stainless steel fasteners — Part 3: Set screws and similar fasteners not under tensile stress’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the General Engineering and Fasteners Standards Sectional Committee and approval of the Production and General Engineering Division Council.

This standard was originally published in 1961 and subsequently revised in 1967, 1984 and 2002. The Committee has now decided to adopt this standard under the dual numbering system in order to align it with the latest version of ISO 3506-3 : 2009 to make pace with the latest international practices.
