1 Scope

1.1 This standard specifies requirements for dental zincpolycarboxylate cements, the principal constituents of which arezinc oxide and aqueous solutions of polyacrylic acid or similarpolycarboxylic compounds, or zinc oxide-polycarboxylic acid powdersto be mixed with water.

1.1.1 The cements covered by this standard are used for joiningor sealing appliances to oral structures or to other appliances, orto serve as a base or foundation for other filling materials or toserve as a temporary filling material.
