NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 27/Sec 1) which is identical to IEC 60317-27-1 : 2020+AMD1 : 2024 CSV 'Specifications for particular types of winding wires - Part 27-1 : Paper tape covered round copper wire' issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Winding Wire Sectional Committee and approval of the Electrotechnical Division Council.

IS 7404 Part 1 was first published in 1974 and subsequently revised in 1991. This adoption is being done to align it with the latest version of IEC 60317-27-1 with the publication of this Standard, IS 7404 (Part 1) : 1991 stands withdrawn.
