IS 13778 : Part 6 : 2018/IEC 60851- 6 : 2012 Winding Wires - Test Methods Part 6 Thermal Properties
Revised Standard from Last Update.
NATIONAL FOREWORD
This Indian Standard (Part 6) (Second Revision) which is identical with IEC 60851-6 : 2012 ‘Winding wires - Test methods - Part 6: Thermal properties’ issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Winding Wires Sectional Committee and approval of the Electrotechnical Division Council.
This standard was originally published in 1993 and subsequently revised in 2011. The second revision of this standard has been undertaken to align it with the latest version of IEC 60851-6 : 2012.
The major changes in this revision are as follows:
a) Modifications in Test 9: Heat shock;
b) Modifications in Test 10: Cut-through;
c) Modifications in Test 15: Temperature index; and
d) Modifications in Test 21: Loss of mass.
This Indian Standard is published in six parts. The other parts in this series are:
Part 1 General
Part 2 Determination of dimensions
Part 3 Mechanical properties
Part 4 Chemical properties
Part 5 Electrical properties
The text of IEC Standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain terminologies and conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:
a) Wherever the words ‘International Standard’ appear referring to this standard, they should be read as ‘Indian Standard’.
b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker, while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
