This Indian Standard, which is identical with IEC Pub 794-1 :1993 `Optical fibre cables: Part 1 Generic specification issued bythe International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), was adopted bythe Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the FibreOptics Sectional Committee, LTD 27 and approval of the Electronicsand Telecommunication Division Council.
