NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Third Revision) which is identical with ISO 3071 : 2020 ‘Textiles - Determination of pH of aqueous extract’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Chemical Methods of Test Sectional Committee and approval of the Textiles Division Council.

This standard was originally published in 1961 and subsequently revised in 1983 and 2019. The second revision of this standard was identical with ISO 3071 : 2005 ‘Textiles - Determination of pH of the aqueous extracts’. The third revision of this standard has been undertaken to align it with the latest version of ISO 3071 : 2020.
