IS 13917 : 2003 Stranded Wire Ropes for Mine Hosting - Technical Delivery Requirements

1 Scope

This standard specifies those properties of stranded wire ropesfor mine hoisting and of their component parts which form a basisfor acceptance. Full-lock coil ropes, balance ropes and flat ropesused in mines are not covered by this standard.

The characteristics of the wire to be used for the manufactureof these ropes, namely, the wires before rope making are notcovered by this standard.
