NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 1) (First Revision) which is identical with IEC 60832-1 : 2010 ‘Live Working - Insulating Sticks And Attachable Devices - Part 1: Insulating Sticks’ issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Tools and Equipment for Live Working Sectional Committee and approval of the Electrotechnical Division Council.

IS 13961 was first published in 1994 identical to IEC Pub. 832 (1988) which covered insulating poles (insulating sticks) and universal tool attachments (fittings) for live working. This revision has been undertaken to align the Indian Standard with the latest version of IEC 60832 which is in 2 parts: Part 1 covering insulating sticks and Part 2 covering attachable devices.
