NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 2) (First Revision) which is identical with IEC 60832-2 : 2010 ‘Live working - Insulating sticks and attachable devices – Part 2: Attachable devices’ issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Tools and Equipment for Live Working Sectional Committee and approval of the Electrotechnical Division Council.

IS 13961 was first published in 1994 identical to IEC pub 832 (1988) which covered insulating poles (insulating sticks) and universal tool attachments (fittings) for live working. This revision has been undertaken to align the Indian Standard with the latest version of IEC 60832 which is in 2 parts : Part 1 covering insulating sticks and Part 2 covering attachable devices.

The text of IEC Standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain terminology and conventions are however not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:

a) Wherever the words ‘International Standard’ appear referring to this standard, they should be read as ‘Indian Standard’.

b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
