NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 1) (Second Revision) which is identical to ISO 9713 : 2022 ‘Neurosurgical implants -Self-closing intracranial aneurysm clips’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Neurosurgery Instruments, Implants and Accessories Sectional Committee and approval of the Medical Equipment and Hospital Planning Division Council.

Thisi revision has been undertaken to align it with latest edition of ISO 9713 : 2022. After publication of this standard, IS 14139 : 2008/ISO 9713 : 2002 stands withdrawn.

The text of ISO sstandard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain conventions are however not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:

a)Wherever the words ‘International Standard’ appear referring to this standard, they should beread as ‘Indian Standard’; and

b)Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker while in Indian Standards, the current practiceis to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
