The Indian Standard which is identical to IEC Pub 878 : 1988Graphical symbols for electrical equipment in medical practice(First Edition), issued by the International ElectrotechnicalCommission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards onthe recommendation of the Electromedical Equipment SectionalCommittee and approval of the Medical Equipment and HospitalPlanning Division Council.
