NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Standard (First Revision) which is identical with IEC 60193 : 2019 ‘Hydraulic turbines storage pumps and pump-turbines — Model acceptance tests’ by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is proposed was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Rotating Machinery Sectional Committee and approval of the Electrotechnical Division Council.

This standard was first published as IS 14197 : 1994 ‘Code for model acceptance tests of hydraulic turbines’ and it was based on IEC Pub 193 : 1965. This revision has been under taken to align this standard with the latest version of IEC 60193.
