This Indian Standard which is identical with IEC Pub 34-15 :1990 `Rotating electrical machines Part 15 : Impulse voltagewithstand levels of rotating a.c. machines with form-wound statorcoils, issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission wasadopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation ofthe Rotating Machinery Sectional Committee (ET 15) and approval ofthe Electrotechnical Division Council.
The text of IEC standard has been approved as suitable forpublication as Indian Standard without deviations. Certainconventions are however not identical to those used in IndianStandards. Wherever the words `IEC Standards appear in thisstandard, they should be read as `Indian Standards.
