IS 14231 : Part 1 : 1995 Cabled Distribution Systems for Television and Sound Signals - Specification - Part 1 : Safety Requirements

1 Scope

1.1 This Indian Standard (Part 1) specifies with the safetyrequirements applicable to fixed sited systems and componentsprimarily intended, for the reception, processing and distributionof sound signals, television signals and their associated datasignals using all applicable transmission media.

1.2 It covers all types of systems such as CATV-systems,MATV-systems, Individual receiving systems and all types ofequipment items installed in such system from the receivingantennas to the system outlets (subscriber equipment input).

1.3 As far as applicable it is also valid for mobile andtemporarily installed systems, for example, caravans.

1.4 This standard does not cover subscriber equipment.
