This standard (Part 5) specifics sizes, materials and tests forwhile flare parachute signals for use in ships communication amongthe rescue station, Marine emergency help units and distress shipsand people or for illumination required for search and rescueoperations. Its performance conforms to the stipulations of SOLASConvention 1974.
