1 Scope

1.1 This standard covers the basic design parameters ofmotorised traveling trippers used to discharge bulk materials frombelt conveyors at any intermediate point along the horizontalportion of belt conveyors.

1.2 This standard covers the trippers suitable for conveyorshaving belts of widths up to 1 600 mm.

1.2.1 Trippers for belt width more than 1 600 mm are notincluded in this standard. Such trippers may follow the generalrequirement specified in this standard and may have dimensions asagreed between purchaser and manufacturer.

1.3 This standard covers trippers powered by electric motors andsuitable power transmission systems. Belt propelled trippers arenot covered by this standard.
