IS 14455 : 1997/ISO 3638 : 1977 Size designation of clothes - Infants garments [Superseding IS 10015(Part 4):1982]

National Foreword

This Indian Standard which is identical with ISO 3638 : 1977 "Sizedesignation of clothes - Infants garments" issued by International Organizationfor Standardization (ISO), was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on therecommendation of the Apparels (Ready-Made Garments) Sectional Committee andapproval of the Textile Division Council.

This-standard supersedes IS 10015 : Part 4 : 1982 to align National Standardwith the corresponding International Standard.

The text of ISO standard has been approved as suitable for publication asIndian Standard without deviations. Certain conventions are, however, notidentical with those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawnto This:

a) Wherever the words `International Standard appear referring to thisstandard, they should be read as `Indian Standard.

b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker in the International Standard,while in the Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as adecimal marker.
