1 SCOPE
1.1 This standard (Part 1) covers procedures and equipment for manually obtaining representative samples of liquid petroleum products, intermediate products and crude oils. This standard also covers sampling of semi liquid petroleum products.
1.2 This standard does not cover sampling of electrical insulating oils and fluid power hydraulic fluids.
1.3 Different degrees of uniformity or the presence of sediment and water are shown to present manual sampling difficulties that may affect the representative nature of final samples.
