Metallicelements, such as iron, lead, magnesium and barium in amountscommonly encountered in lubricating oils do not interfere. Thismethod may also be used for the analysis of additive concentratescontaining phosphorus in the pentavalent state but is notrecommended if the material contains more than 10 percentphosphorus.
