1. SCOPE
This standard prescribes the method of test for measurement of the ability of an oil to separate entrained air. It is generally applied to hydraulic and turbine oils but can also be applied to other lubricating oils. It can also be used for petroleumbased lubricants and synthetic fluids such as phosphate esters.
