IS 1448 : Part 10 : Sec 2 : 2021/ISO 3016 : 2019 Methods of Test for Petroleum and its Products Part 10 Petroleum and Related Products from Natural or Synthetic Sources Section 2 Determination of pour point
Revised Standard from Last Update.
NATIONAL FOREWORD
The Indian Standard (Part 10/Sec 2) (Third Revision) which is identical with ISO 3016 : 2019 ‘Petroleum and related products from natural or synthetic sources — Determination of pour point’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Methods of Sampling and Test for Petroleum, its Products, Gaseous Fuels and Lubricants Sectional Committee and approval of the Petroleum, Coal and Related Products Division Council.
This standard was first published in 1970 covering the determination of cloud point and pour point of petroleum products. Since ISO has published ISO 3015 : 1992 covering only determination of cloud point and ISO 3016 : 1994 covering determination of pour point, this standard was revised for the second time in 2012, into two sections. Other section of this Part 10 is ‘Determination of cloud point’. The third revision of this standard has been undertaken to align it with the latest version of ISO 3016 : 2019.The text of ISO Standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain terminologies and conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:
a) Wherever the words ‘International Standard’ appear referring to this standard, they should be read as ‘Indian Standard’.
b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker, while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
