The Indian Standard (Part 170) (First Revision) which is identical with ISO 20623 : 2017 ‘Petroleum and related products - Determination of the extreme pressure and anti-wear properties of lubricants - Four-ball method (European conditions)’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Methods for Sampling and Test for Petroleum and Related Products of Synthetic or Biological Origin Including Lubricants, Greases, Speciality Products, Additives and Gaseous Guels (excluding Bitumen) Sectional Committee and approval of the Petroleum, Coal and Related Products Division Council.
