IS 1448 : Part 20 : 2024/ISO 13736 : 2021 Petroleum and Its Products - Test Methods - Part 20 Determination of Flash Point - Abel Closed-Cup Method
NATIONAL FOREWORD
This Indian Standard (Part 20) (Fourth Revision) which is identical to ISO 13736 : 2021 'Determination of flash point - Abel closed - cup method' issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Methods of Sampling and Test for Petroleum and Related Products of Natural or Synthetic Origin (excluding bitumen) Sectional Committee and approval of the Petroleum, Coal and Related Products Division Council.
This standard was first published in 1976 and subsequently revised in 1982, 1988. The third revision was brought out in 2019 to align to ISO 13736 : 2013 'Determination of flash point - Abel closed - cup method'. Consequent to revision of ISO 13736 in 2021, this revision has been brought out to align the standard with latest version of ISO 13736 : 2021.
The text of ISO standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:
a) Wherever the words 'International Standard' appear referring to this standard, they should be read as 'Indian Standard'; and
b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
