1. Scope

This standard prescribes the test method for determination of the smoke point of kerosene and other volatile liquid fuels including gas turbine (jet) fuels.

NOTE - The smoke point is related to the hydrocarbon type composition, and provides an indication of relative smokeproducing properties in a diffusion flame
