1 Scope

This standard prescribes the procedure for collection and preparation of samples of manganese ores from wagons, trucks, ships, and stockpiles for the determination of size distribution, moisture content, chemical composition of the ore in the lot. It also lays down a method for reporting the quality of material sampled. The samples should be drawn keeping in mind that separate samples should be drawn for each type/category/source of ore since otherwise the representativeness of the sample may not be maintained.
