IS 14565 : 1998 Textile auxiliaries - Methods of tests for detection and estimation of silicone emulsion

1 Scope

1.1 This standard prescribes methods of test for detection and estimation ofsilicone emulsions used in textile industry, based on polydimethyl siloxane orpolymethyl hydrogen siloxane. It covers estimation of solid content, oil contentsilica content, active matter content in terms of percent of nitrogen purity andtype, pH stability and storage stability of silicone emulsions.

1.1.1 The methods specified in this standard are applicable to both types ofsilicone emulsions, that is, polydimethyl siloxane type and polymethyl hydrogensiloxane type, individually and are not applicable to their mixtures.
