NATIONAL FOREWORD
This Indian Standard (Part 1) (First Revision) which is identical with IEC 61363-1 : 1998 ‘Electrical installations of ships and mobile and fixed offshore units - Part 1: Procedures for calculating shortcircuit currents in three-phase a.c.’ issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Low Voltage Switchgear and Controlgear Sectional Committee and approval of the Electrotechnical Division Council.
This standard was first published in 1998 which was identical to IEC 60363 : 1972. This revision has been undertaken to align this standard with the latest international practices.
