1 Scope

This standard specifies the method for measurement ofperformance such as the power, brake specific fuel consumption atfull load of an internal combustion engines (both positive andcompression ignition engines) used for automotive vehicles as afunction of engine speed. This standard also covers the measurementof opacity (smoke) of the exhaust gas of Compression ignitionengines.
