This Indian Standard which is identical with IEC Pub 96-0-1 :1990 `Radio-frequency cables - Part 0 : Guide to the design ofdetail specifications - Section 1 - Coaxial cables issued by theInternational Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), was adopted by theBureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of Wires, Cables,Waveguides and Accessories Sectional Committee, LTD 18, andapproval of the Electronics and Telecommunication Division Council.

The text of the IEC standard has been approved as suitable forpublication as Indian Standard without deviations. Wherever thewords `International Standard appear referring to this standard,they should be read as `Indian standard.
