IS 14635 : 1999 Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) Materials for Moulding and Extrusion - Specification

1 Scope

1.1 This standard covers moulding and extrusion powders of PTFE(Polytetrafluoroethylene) processable by methods similar to thoseused in powder metallurgy and ceramics. The usual methods forprocessing thermoplastics are not applicable to these materialsbecause of their unusual viscoelastic properties at processingtemperature.

1.2 The materials included in this standard do not covermixtures of PTFE resin with additives such as colour, fillers, etc.The properties described as those required to identify the varioustypes of powders.
