1 SCOPE

1.1 This standard ( Part 3/Sec 1 ) applies to the construction and safety of new passenger and goods lifts suspended by ropes and employing a guided lift CN.

1.2 This standard does not apply to platform lifts, amusement devices, skip hoists, conveyors or similar apparatus used for raising, piling or tiering.
