Scope

This standard (Part 5) applies to electric traction passenger/goods liftserected at any place and intended for use by passengers.

This standard does not apply to:

a) Service lifts (dumbwaiters)

b) Hydraulic lifts

c) Escalators

d) Cranes

This standard is concerned with inspection of lifts from safety point of viewand does not cover performance requirements and corresponding tests.
