IS 14687 : 1999 Falsework for Concrete Structures - Guidelines

1 Scope

1.1 These guidelines cover the common requirements of materials,design and construction of falsework, as applied to generalbuilding and ordinary civil engineering constructions excludingbridges and special structures. General building construction forthe purpose of this code, means structures up to 4 storeys or 15 mheight and dead load of formwork and concrete not exceeding 20kN/m². The provisions of these guidelines can beapplied to other buildings and structures with additionalrequirements.

1.2 The requirements of special falsework systems, such asmoving forms, climbing forms, slipforms, flying forms, etc, are notcovered in these guidelines. It also does not govern manyrequirements of moulds for precast and prestressed concretecomponents, architectural concrete and lost forms.
