This Indian Standard which is identical with ISO 6897 : 1984`Guidelines for the evaluation of the response of occupants offixed structures, especially buildings and off-shore structures, tolow-frequency horizontal motion (0.063 to 1 Hz) issued by theInternational Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted bythe Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of MechanicalVibration and Shock Sectional Committee and approval of the LightMechanical Engineering Division Council.
