NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (First Revision) which is identical with ISO 8654 : 2018 ‘Jewellery - Colours of gold alloys - Definition, range of colours and designation’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Precious Metals Sectional Committee and approval of the Metallurgical Engineering Division Council.

This Standard was originally published in 1999. The Committee has decided to revise this standard, as the corresponding ISO standard has been revised, by adopting ISO 8654 : 2018 (including amendment 1) to bring it in line with latest international practices.
