NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (First Revision) which is identical with IEC 60633 : 2019 ‘High-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission - Vocabulary’ issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the HVDC Power Systems Sectional Committee and approval of the Electrotechnical Division Council.

This standard was first published in the year 2000 identical to IEC 60633 (1998). This revision is being brought out to bring the standard in line with the latest international practices.
