NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 2) (First Revision) which is identical with ISO 12129-2 : 2019 ‘Plain bearings - Tolerances - Part 2: Tolerances on form and position and surface roughness for shafts and thrust collars’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Bearings Sectional Committee and approval of the Production and General Engineering Division Council.

This standard was originally published in 2000 based on ISO 12129-2 : 1995 ‘Plain bearings - Part 2 : tolerances on form and position and surface-roughness for shafts, flanges and thrust collars’. The first revision of this standard has been undertaken to align it with the latest version of ISO 12129-2 : 2019.
