This Indian Standard (First Revision) which is identical with ISO 5985 : 2002 ‘Animal feeding stuffs - Determination of ash insoluble in hydrochloric acid’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Animal Husbandry, Feeds and Equipment Sectional Committee and approval of the Food and Agriculture Division Council

This Standard was first published in year 2000 and was identical adoption of ISO 5985 : 1978 ‘Animal feeding stuffs - Determination of ash insoluble in hydrochloric acid’. The first revision of this standard has been undertaken to align it with the latest version of ISO 5985 : 2002.
