This Indian Standard (Part 5) which is identical with IEC 60747-5 : 1992 `Semiconductor devices - Discrete devices and integrated circuits - Part 5: Optoelectronic devices' [along with Amendment No. 1 (1994) and Amendment No. 2 (1995)] issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendations of Semiconductor Devices and Integrated Circuits Sectional Committee and approval of the Electronics and Telecommunication Division Council.
