Revised Standard from Last Update.

NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (First Revision) which is identical with ISO 8783 : 2015 ‘Alpine skis - Guidelines for conducting slope performance tests’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendationof the Mountaineering and Adventure Sports Sectional Committee and approval of the Production and General Engineering Division Council.

This standard was originally published in 2001 based on ISO/TR 8783 : 1985 ‘Alpine skis - Guidelines for conducting slope performance tests’. The first revision of this standard has been undertaken to align it with the latest version of ISO 8783 : 2015. The major changes in this revision are as follows:

a) normative references (2) are updated;

b) Terms and Definitions have been added; and

c) Test Committee, Test Personnel, Test Run, Rating Method and Binding System requirements have been technically modified.
