IS 1500 : Part 2 : 2021/ISO 6506-2 : 2017 Metallic Materials - Brinell Hardness Test Part 2 Verification and Calibration of Testing Machines
Revised Standard from Last Update.
NATIONAL FOREWORD
This Indian standard (Part 2) (Fifth Revision) which is identical with ISO 6506-2 : 2017 ‘Metallic materials - Brinell hardness test - Part 2: Verification and calibration of testing machines’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Mechanical testing of Metals Sectional Committee and approval of the Metallurgical Engineering Division Council.
This revision has been undertaken to harmonize it with the latest developments that have taken place at international level. The committee has now decided to adopt this standard under dual numbering system and make it align with ISO 6506 : 2017, which is published in four parts. Similarly, this standard is also published in four parts.
The other parts in this series are:
Part 1 Test method
Part 3 Calibration of reference blocks
Part 4 Table of hardness values
The text of ISO standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain terminologies and conventions are, however, not identical with those used in Indian Standards. Attention is especially drawn to the following:
a) Wherever the words ‘International Standard’ appear referring to this standard, they should be as read as ‘Indian Standard’.
b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker, while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
