This Indian Standard (Part 1) which is identical with ISO 8442-1: 1997 `Materials and articles in contact with foodstuffs - Cutleryand table holloware - Part 1 : Requirements for cutlery for thepreparation of food' issued by the International Organization forStandardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standardson the recommendations of the Utensils, Cutlery and DomesticHardware Sectional Committee and approval of the MechanicalEngineering Division Council.
