1 SCOPE

1.1 This standard covers the requirements for wooden patterns equipment. It specifies mould tapers, shrinkage allowances, methods of construction and other technical aspects of pattern making and usage. The system of colouring patterns is also covered by this standard.

1.2 This standard does not cover pattern accessories, like dowels, dowel sleeves, lifting pins and lifting and rapping plates, which are covered by separate Indian Standards (see IS 6401, IS 5988, IS 6376 and IS 6378).
