IS 15178 : 2025/ISO 7745 : 2024 Hydraulic Fluid Power - Fire-Resistant Fluids - Requirements and Guidelines for Use
NATIONAL FOREWORD
This Indian Standard (Second Revision) which is identical to ISO 7745 : 2024 'Hydraulic fluid power - Fire-resistant fluids - Requirements and guidelines for use' issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Lubricants and their Related Products Sectional Committee and approval of the Petroleum, Coal and Related Products Division Council.
This standard was first published in 2002 and subsequently revised in 2021.
Original standard was based on ISO 7745 : 1989 'Hydraulic fluid power - Fire resistant (FR) fluids- Guidelines for use'.
The first revision was carried out for adoption of revised ISO 7745 : 2010 Hydraulic fluid power - Fire-resistant (FR) fluids- Requirements and guidelines for use.
This revision has been brought out to adopt the latest version ISO 7745 : 2024. The major changes in this revision are as follows:
a) Addition of Clause 2 'Normative references' and renumbering of subsequent clauses accordingly;
b) Update of Table 2; and
c) Update of the dated references.
The text of the ISO standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:
a) Wherever the words 'International Standard' appear referring to this standard, they should be read as 'Indian Standard'; and
b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
